Namecheap subdomain setup guide

It is not necessary to register a new domain name for shortening links if you own one that works properly. Create a subdomain using a domain you already have.

  1. Go to the Namecheap account to the list of domains.

  2. Select "Manage" next to the necessary domain. manage

  3. Click on "Advanced DNS" tab. advanced-dns

  4. Add "A-record." Input your subdomain to the HOST field. Add 52.21.33.16 VALUE (an IP address, which connects Short.cm and Namecheap). namecheap-sub

  5. Go to Short.cm account. Click on "Add new domain." add-new-domain

  6. Input a domain and subdomain to "Add your domain" field. add-subdomain

  7. Click on "Add a domain." add-domain-button

  8. Wait a few hours and then refresh the domain status.
